I have to admit that I really enjoyed JJ Abrams StarWars The Force Awakens. And while I was hoping for a Han Solo origin film next this looks awesome. I like the trend of having strong female leads. I have to admit it looks like this is going to be awesome. While the trailer is more traditional. They are giving us more story and less hype than the Force Awakens Trailer. One thing we have to tip out hats to Lucas Films they know how to market their movies. I love this yearly thing. Getting one great science fiction every Christmas just makes life better.
Above is Carrie Fishers dog Gary sitting in the directors chair. She tweeted it from the set.
Last week they started filming Episode 8 and this week a working title was revealed, “Space Bear.” Of course like Return of the Jedi the name could be changed before the release. Episode 6 was originally referred to Revenge of the Jedi because writer Lawrence Kasdan thought Return of the Jedi was a weak name.
The other tidbit of good news is that they moved the release date to December 15, 2017 after the $1 Billion success of Force Awakens. It’s good thinking that yearly Star Wars Christmas time installments will become a cultural phenomenon that the world will come to expect.
The impression of director Rian Johnson is that he is putting in his all, so fandom is expecting another master piece. Added to the cast is Benicio del Toro and Laura Dern. Sure we will all miss Harrison Ford.
While this is a science fiction flix it is also a horror movie. You can check out more horror films at gorhor.com.
Alien 1979 starts with the journey of the space vessel Nostromo back to Earth. The spaceship carries a group of people in stasis: Captain Dallas, Executive Officer Kane, Navigator Lambert, Science Officer Ash, Warrant Officer Ripley, and Engineers Parker and Brett. After receiving a cryptic message from a nearby planetoid, the ship’s computer wakes up its passengers. The spaceship lands on the planetoid and Dallas, Kane and Lambert conduct an investigation of their surroundings. They find a downed alien vessel from which the transmission is coming from. When they check the interior of the spaceship, they discover the corpse of an alien.
Meanwhile in the ship, Ripley deciphers the message and realizes that it is a warning. In the alien’s vessel, Kane finds a room full of the alien’s eggs. When he decides to check out one of the eggs, a creature suddenly comes out and attacks him. Dallas and Lambert rescue him and bring him back to Nostromo. Because of the situation, Ripley refuses to let them in but Ash manipulates the ship’s system to let those outside in. The crew try to remove the alien that is still attached on Kane’s face but they can’t. After some time, the creature detaches from Kane’s face and dies.
After repairing their ship, the crew leaves the planetoid. Kane recovers but it is not long after before a small alien bursts from his body and kills him. Meanwhile, the alien scuttles and hides in of the corners of the vessel. Because the creature’s body fluid is corrosive, the crew try to catch it without puncturing its body.
It does not take long before Brett is also killed by the fast-growing alien. The group makes a plan of ejecting the alien from the spaceship. Dallas tries to flush out the alien from the ventilation shafts but it kills him in return. To avoid more killings, Lambert suggests that they use the ship’s shuttle to escape but Ripley explains that the shuttle can’t carry four people. They then decide to pursue their plan of forcing the alien to come out.
When they explore the ship’s computer system, Ripley unveils Ash’s secret mission. It turns out that he is ordered to bring the alien their employer and he can leave everyone on board to die. A confrontation ensues between Ripley and Ash and Ash tries to kill Ripley. When Parker attempts to help Ripley by hitting Ash on the head, they discover that Ash is in fact, an android. They reactivate the robot’s head and Ripley questions him. The head tells them that he is tasked to bring the alien back alive no matter what the costs are. The crew destroys the android completely but not after it has warned them about the “perfect organism.”
Because of what they have learned from Ash, Ripley, Lambert and Parker decide to let the Nostromo self-destruct after they escape using the vessel’s shuttle. While Parker and Lambert are gathering supplies for their journey, the alien comes out of nowhere and attacks them. When she finds out about this, Ripley sets the code for Nostromo’s self-destruction and she starts heading for the shuttle. Before she can aboard the shuttle, the alien blocks her way. She retreats and tries to disengage the ship’s self-destruction code. As she goes back to the shuttle, she can’t see the ship’s pet cat and the alien. She proceeds to the shuttle before the spaceship explodes.
Ripley makes preparation for her stasis but the alien suddenly comes out. She puts on a spacesuit and unlocks the shuttle’s airlock. This causes a decompression that knocks the alien into the shuttle’s doorway. Ripley tries to shoot the alien with a grappling hook but the gun gets trapped on the door, hooking the alien to the vessel. Ripley then ignites the engines which sends the alien quickly into space. After entering the final log of journey, Ripley sets herself and the cat under stasis.
The Empire Strikes Back is set three years after the Death Star has been destroyed. During this time, the Rebel Alliance has been forced out of Yavin IV by the Galactic Empire. Princess Leia, together with Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, establishes a new base on the icy planet Hoth. On the other hand, the Imperial Fleet that is led by Darth Vader searches for the location of their new base.
As he investigates a potential meteor strike, a wampa kidnaps Luke. He escapes from its lair using his lightsaber but he soon starts to lose his strength due to extreme coldness of the environment. An apparition of Obi-Wan Kenobi tells him to head for Dagobah and there, he must train under the command of the Jedi Master Yoda. Not long after, Han finds him and brings him back to the base.
While patrolling the vicinities, Han and Chewbacca discover a probe droid sent by the Imperial Fleet posing as an asteroid. Upon learning the Rebels’ new location, the Empire attacks the base using AT-AT Walkers. Han and Leia flee with C3PO and Chewbacca using the Millenium Falcon but their vessel malfunctions. They decide to hide in an asteroid belt while Darth Vader calls for bounty hunters to them. At the same time, Luke gets on board an X-wing fighter with R2-D2 and uses it escape. They crash land on planet Dagobah. There he meets Yoda who has some doubts before accepting him as his pupil.
After their escape, Han decides that they should go to Cloud City, a floating gas mining colony located in Bespin. It is headed by a close friend of his, Lando Calrissian. Little they do know that one of the bounty hunters, Boba Fett, has already tracked down the Millenium Falcon. Upon their arrival, they walk straight into a trap and Lando brings them before Darth Vader. Darth Vader intends to use his captives as bait to flush out Luke from wherever he is hiding. An omen reveals Han and Leia’s capture to Luke and though Yoda tries to dissuade him, he sets out to save them.
Darth Vader breaks the deal he made with Lando and he snatches Leia from him. He wants to preserve Luke using carbon freezing and he tries the process on Han. He gives the now frozen Han to Fett who plans on handing Han over to Jabba the Hut and to claim the bounty for him. Because he was just forced by the Empire to do their bidding, Lando helps Leia and the others to escape. The group then tries to save Han but Fett has already left for Tattooine.
Luke finally arrives and is surprised by Darth Vader. The two men fight with their lightsabers. Luke finds out that he’s no match for Darth Vader when he cuts off his right hand. Darth Vader urges Luke to join him in betraying the Emperor but Luke refuses. At that moment, Darth Vader tells Luke that he is his real father. Utterly shocked by this revelation, Luke falls through the air shaft. As he falls to the floating city, he emits a telepathic transmission to Leia. Leia receives it and she convinces Lando to rescue him. After saving him, R2-D2 fixes the hyperdrive of Falcon and they use it to escape the Imperial Fleet.
The group finds a medical frigate owned by the Rebels and there, Luke’s severed hand is replaced by a robotic hand. The movie ends with Lando and Chewbacca going on a quest to save Han from Jabba the Hut while Luke and Leia, together with R2-D2 and C3PO, wait for them to make contact.
Blade Runner is set in Los Angeles on November 2019. At this time, the former police officer Rick Deckhard is brought by Officer Gaff to his former supervisor, Bryant. As a “Blade Runner,” Deckhard is informed that four replicants (bioengineered creatures) have come to Earth illegally and they must be “retired” immediately. The replicants, which are Tyrell Corporation Nexus-6 models, are known to only have a four-year lifespan so their reason for coming to Earth must be to put an extension to their short lives.
Deckhard is shown a video demonstrating how replicants can be singled out based on their reactions to certain questions. On the video, a man named Holden asks the test subject, Leon about his mother. Not answering the question, Leon shoots Holden on the spot. Deckhard’s mission now is to track down Leon as well as the other replicants named Roy Batty, Zhora and Pris and kill them all. Deckhard does not want the job but Bryant makes some threats that push Deckhard to accept.
Deckhard starts tracking down the replicants by going to the Tyrell Corporation first. He wants to confirm if the test shown on the video works for all Nexus models. In Tyrell Corporation, Deckhard meets Rachael, an experimental replicant who thinks that she is a human. She is given false memories by her maker, Dr. Eldon Tyrell. These false memories allow her exhibit certain emotional tendencies. Because of this, further test is required to confirm if she behaves as a human or a replicant.
Things becomes complicated when Deckhard’s investigation when he learns that the illegal replicants are looking for Tyrell because they want him to extend their lives. Roy and Leon go to a laboratory that specializes in making replicant eyes. There, they find J.F. Sebastian, a genetic designer who is a close associate of Tyrell. Meanwhile, Rachael goes to Deckhard’s house and tries to convince him of her humanity. She hands him a family photo with her in it but Deckhard reveals that the photo is only part of the false memories that Tyrell has implanted on her. Rachael leaves in haste after this revelation. On the other hand, Pris searches for Sebastian and tries to win his trust.
Deckhard locates Leon’s room and there he finds a photo of Zhora. Clues on the photo lead him to a strip club where Zhora works. He tracks her down and kills her. After finishing the assignment, Bryant orders Deckhard to also kill Racheal who has gone missing from Tyrell Corporation. When Deckhard finds her, Leon tries to kill him but Rachael saves him by shooting Leon with Deckhard’s pistol. The two retreat to Deckhard’s place and Deckhard vows not to search for Rachael anymore.
Meanwhile, Roy informs Pris that the rest of their colleagues are dead. When he sees their dilemma, Sebastian tells them that he has Methuselah Syndrome, a genetic premature aging disorder that is currently shortening his lifespan. Sebastian and Roy decide to break into Tyrell’s house and Roy forces him to extend their lives. Tyrell tries to convince Roy that he can’t do that. Roy rants about the things that he has done but Tyrell just commends him for doing so much in such a short time. Roy ends up killing Tyrell. After witnessing this, Sebastian tries to escape but Roy catches up to him.
When he reaches Sebastian’s apartment, Deckhard is attacked by Pris but he kills her instead. At that moment, Roy comes back from Tyrell’s house. He sees Deckhard and runs after him. Simultaneously, his body starts shutting down. The chase ends up in the roof top where Deckhard tries to jump on another building. He misses and just manages to barely hang onto building. On the other hand, Roy jumps from one building to another without so much breaking a sweat. When Deckhard loses his grip, Roy saves him and pulls him up on the roof. Roy then dies and Gaff arrives shouting some warnings about Rachael. Deckhard rushes to his apartment and he finds Rachael sleeping on his bed. Deckhard spots an origami on the floor which reminds him that Rachael’s life is still in danger. The movie ends with Deckhard and Rachael rushing out of the apartment.

After releasing Han, Leia is caught and made a slave by the enemies. Luke comes to the rescue but he is also caught. He and Han Solo are sentenced to serve as food for the monster Sarlacc. In the Carkoon, Luke escapes with R2-D2’s help before he can be eaten by Sarlacc. A battle ensues and Boba Fett almost kills him before Han Solo arrives and knocks the enemy on Sarlacc’s pit. On the other hand, Leia kills Jabba and Luke destroys Jabba’s barge before they flee. The rest of the group meet with the Rebel Alliance while Luke goes to Dagobah. There he finds out that Yoda is on the verge of dying. Prior to his death, Yoda reveals to Luke that Darth Vader, formerly known as Anakin Skywalker, is his father. After that, an apparition of Obi-Wan Kenobi divulges to Luke that he has a twin sister, Leia. Furthermore, it is Luke’s task to defeat his father in order to destroy the Empire.
The Rebel Alliance finds out that they Empire is building a new Death Star under the supervision of Emperor Palpatine. Han then leads an attack on the forest moon of Endor to destroy the shield generator that protects the Death Star. Luke and Leia join the strike team and they journey towards Endor aboard a stolem Imperial shuttle. On Endor, Luke’s group encounters the Ewoks. The creatures are initially doubtful of their intentions but they soon gain their trust. Not much later, Luke reveals to Leia that he is her twin brother and Darth Vader is their father. He also tells her about his mission to defeat him. After that, Luke gives up himself to the Imperial troops and he is brought in front of Darth Vader. Upon meeting his father, Luke tries to convince Darth Vader to turn his back from the dark side of the Force but to no avail.
Darth Vader, on the other hand, intends to convince Luke to turn to the dark side. He then brings his son to the Emperor. The Emperor tells Luke that the Death Star is already finished and it is ready to ambush the Rebel fleet. On Endor, Han’s troop is almost defeated by the Imperial forces when the Ewoks come to their aid. At the meantime, Lando leads the Rebel forces to the Death Star but to their surprise, the vessel is already waiting for them. The Emperors pushes Luke on edge to make him turn to the dark side. In the end, Luke engages in a battle with his father using his lightsaber. When Darth Vader realizes that Luke has a twin sister, he threatens him that he will also make her sister join the dark side. In his anger, Luke manages to cut off Darth Vader’s right hand. Upon seeing this, the Emperor urges Luke to kill his father but Luke refuses and announces himself to be a Jedi like his father was. The strike team on Endor then successful destroys the shield generator, dismantling the force field of the Death Star. The Rebel immediately commences an attack on the vessel. Because of this, Emperor Palpatine punishes Luke with his powers. At that moment, Darth Vader saves his son by killing the Emperor but not without receiving mortal wounds first. Before he dies, Darth Vader asks his son to remove his mask as he lies in his arms.
The battle ends when Lando manages to destroy the Death Star’s main reactor. Luke leaves the vessel and brings his father’s body with him. On Endor, Leia finally tells Han about her twin brother. Upon Luke’s return, they hold a funeral pyre for Anakin Skywalker. The movie ends with victory celebration of the Rebels. Obi-Wan and Yoda reappears, and now with Anakin, the trio watch over the group as Luke smiles at them.

Back to the Future is about Mary McFly, a wannabe musician who lives in Hill Valley, California. He has a girlfriend named Jennifer Parker, an alcoholic mother, Loraine, and his father, George, is bossed around by his supervisor, Biff Tannen.
On October 26, 1985, Marty meets Dr. Emmett Brown in a mall’s parking lot. Doc shows him a time machine installed in a Delorean and powered by plutonium that he stole from Libyan terrorists. Doc also shows how to use the machine, keying in the date of November 5, 1995 as an example. It is the day the Doc came up with the idea of building a time machine. It is not long after the Libyan terrorist attacks them. Doc Brown is killed and Marty escapes using the Delorean but not without accidentally activating the time machine. Marty arrives in 1955 without the plutonium needed to run the time machine.
In that year, Marty meets the younger self of his father. Biff is already bossing him around by that time. Marty saves George from being hit by a car and he’s knocked unconscious. He wakes up to see the younger version of his mother who is totally enamored with him. Marty leaves her behind to track down Doc and ask for his help in returning to 1985. When he finds him, the scientist tells him that they can’t run the time machine without the plutonium. However, there’s an alternative way to get the machine running. They can harvest lightning and use it as fuel for the machine. Fortunately, according to the flyer that Marty has brought from the future, there is in fact a lightning that will be hitting the town’s courthouse the next Saturday night. Doc advises Marty to avoid doing anything that can alter the future. Marty then realizes that he has prevent his parents from meeting. Because of this, Doc prepares for their task in harvesting the lightning while Marty makes plans on introducing his mother and father to each other. As he does this, he accidentally makes trouble with Biff and his gang.
During the school dance, Marty plans to have his father “rescue” his mother from his naughtiness but his plan crumbles when Biff enters the scene and makes a move on Loraine. Fortunately, George arrives and saves Loraine from Biff. George and Loraine end up in the dance floor where they kiss and start to fall in love. Pleased with what has happened, Marty leaves the pair and goes to meet Doc.
When Marty goes to the clock tower, the lightning strikes just in time and they are able to power up the time machine. Marty returns to October 1985 and warns Doc about what will happen to him. Because of this, Doc dons on a bullet-proof vest and he takes Marty home before getting on board the time machine and sends himself to 2015.
The next morning, Marty wakes up just to find that his life has been changed completely. His father is now a successful author and his mother is quite happy with herself. Biff, on the other hand works under his father’s supervision. Marty meets up Jennifer just as Doc arrives on the time machine telling them that they must go with him because something wrong has happened with their children in the future.
Aliens starts with Ellen Ripley being saved after 57 years of wandering in space. In Weyland-Yutani Corporation, she is informed that her ship, Nostromo is already gone while the employees do not believe that an alien had gotten aboard of her ship that annihilated her entire crew.
In Zena Reticuli, the exomoon LV-246 now serves as home of Hadley’s Hope colony. After losing contact with Hadley Hope, Colonel Marine Lieutenant Gorman orders Ripley to go with Carter Burke in investigating what happened. Ripley has some doubts about going but her dreams about the alien push her to do the investigation. As an insurance, she makes Burke swear that he will kill any aliens that they will encounter. They get on board, USS Sulaco, where Ripley meets the crew and an android named Bishop.
They are transported to a now deserted LV-246. When they check out the place, they see signs of struggle but they find no bodies. In the medical lab, they encounter two facehuggers and survivor, Newt, who hides in the ventilation system to avoid being captured. The investigating team uses the colony’s computer to determine the location of the other colonists.
When they reach the center of the station, they find that the remaining colonists have been cocooned, harboring the aliens’ young. The marines kill one of the newborn aliens and this wakes up the rest of the terrestrial creatures, killing the soldiers and apprehending the others. Ripley grabs the wheel from Gorman and drives to save the other marines. A marine named Hicks calls the dropship for rescue but an alien slaughters the pilots which causes the dropship to crash. The rest of survivors then retreat inside the colony to protect themselves.
Once inside, Ripley finds out the real reason why Burke sent the colonists to LV-246. She learns that Burke intends to recover any alien remains that can be potentially used as biological weapons. As Ripley threatens to expose his plans, Bishop announces an imminent problem. The power plant has been damaged during the attack and they only have little time left before the 40-megaton thermonuclear weapon explodes. Bishop offers to go through the pipes in order to reach the colony’s transmitter and from there, remotely maneuver a dropship that they can use.
After some time, Ripley and Newt fall asleep only to discover that they are locked up in the lab with two facehuggers. Ripley manages to set off the alarm and the marines come to their rescue. Ripley accuses Burke of locking them up in the laboratory. She argues that Burke want the facehuggers to impregnate them so that he can smuggle the aliens in Earth. Before the marines can take any action against Burke, the power goes off and a group of aliens start attacking them. The rest of the crew are killed off one by one as Hudson, Burke, and Newt are held hostages.
Ripley and Hicks escape. They find their way to the second dropship. The two men are ready to escape but Ripley does not want to leave Newt behind. She looks for some kind of weapon and heads back to the colony to save Newt. As they escape, they come across the alien queen in her egg chamber. When Ripley destroys the alien eggs, the queen becomes enraged and it chases Ripley and Newt as they find their way back to Bishop and Hicks. Minutes before the thermonuclear weapon explodes, the remaining survivor escape using the spare dropship.
Once inside Sulaco, their relief is broken when the alien queen makes a surprise attack on them. The alien badly injures Bishop while Ripley forces it outside the ship using a cargo-loader. The movie ends up with the group entering a hypersleep mode before their vessel heads back to Earth.

Before he goes back to Dr. Brown, Marty buys a sports almanac of the years 1950 to 2000. Doc finds out about it and he scolds Marty regarding the consequences of messing up with the future. The police arrive and tell them that they have taken Jennifer to her home in the year 2015. Little they do know that Biff has overheard their conversation.
Jennifer regains consciousness in her future home. When she tries to leave the house, Jennifer from 1985 comes face to face with her future self. Both Jennifers from the past and future faint. Marty and Dr. Brown find Jennifer and Biff sneaks into the time machine to bring the almanac to his younger self in the year 1955. Marty, Dr. Brown and Jennifer go back to 1985 not knowing what Biff did.
The trio are surprised to find how 1985 has changed dramatically. Biff is a wealthy and corrupt man, running Hill Valley with chaos. In addition, Marty’s father has been killed in 1973 while his mother is coerced by Biff to marry him. They also find out that the Dr. Brown from the now 1985 is locked up in an asylum. Marty and Doc discover that Biff has brought the almanac from 2015 to the past on November 20, 1955. Because of this, Biff tries to kills Marty but he manages to escape with Doc and they go back to 1955.
Marty observes how Biff from 1955 has gotten the almanac. He trails Biff until they come to the high school’s dance. Marty and the 1955 Biff do a cycle of stealing the almanac from each other until Biff finally manages to hit a manure truck. Marty lights the almanac on fire. Everything then goes back to the way it was in 1985. As they are about to return to 1985, a lightning strikes the time machine and it disappears. Suddenly, a courier arrives with a letter for Marty. When he opens it, he learns that it is from Doc who is transported back to 1885. Marty runs back to town to find Dr. Brown from 1955 who has just helped the original Marty return to 1985 moments before McFly arrives. The movie ends with Dr. Emmett Brown passing out when he sees Marty again.
