In Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, the movie starts three years after the Clone Wars had started. During a battle between the Galactic and the Separatist Alliance, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker commanded a rescue mission aiming to save Supreme Chancellor Palpatine who was previously kidnapped by the Separatist commander General Grievous. Anakin kills Count Dooku with his light saber. Grievous, on the other hand, escapes before their spaceship crashes. Afterwards, Anakin goes back to his wife, Padme Amidala who announces her pregnancy with their child. Anakin’s excitement about his forthcoming child takes a different turns when he starts having omens about Padme dying as she gives birth to their offspring.
Anakin is appointed by Palpatine to be his representative in the Jedi Council. The Council refuses to grant Anakin the rank of a Jedi Master and because of this Anakin loses faith to the council. Using Anakin’s increasing aversion towards the council, Palpatine tempts Anakin to try using the dark side of the Force. Anakin discovers that Palpatine is truly the Sith Lord, Darth Sidious and he conveys this information to Mace Windu, who immediately sets out to fight the Sith Lord. Before Palpatine can be killed by Mace Windu, Anakin saves him hoping that the Sith Lord can help to save Padme’s life. In exchange for this, Anakin agrees to be Palpatine’s ally and he is baptizes as Darth Vader.
Through Order 66, Palpatine commands the Jedi troopers to annihilate everyone in the Jedi Temple but Obi-Wan and Yoda manage to escape. Darth Vader pursues who’s left on the Separatist leaders on planet Mustafar and kills them all. Palpatine takes over the Senate and declares himself the emperor of the newly established Galactic Empire. While on Coruscant, Obi-Wan and Yoda discovers Anakin’s betrayal. Obi-Wan assumes that Anakin has already turned to the dark side. When she learns about this, Padme follows Anakin on planet Mustafar. During their confrontation, Anakin finds out that Obi-Wan is with Padme and he in turn, feels betrayed by her actions. Anakin attacks Padme using the Force and Obi-Wan starts to fight him. Due to the injuries inflicted upon him by Obi-Wan, Darth Vader falls into a volcanic river and he burns. On Coruscant, Yoda and Palpatine engages in a battle of the minds but both can’t defeat the other.
In an asteroid called Polis Massa, Padme gives birth to twins. She names her children Luke and Leia before she dies. Padme is buried in Naboo after her death. In the meantime, Palpatine rescues the dying Darth Vader and uses cybernetic parts to replaces the limbs and organs that he lost. After regaining consciousness, Darth Vader learns about Padme’s death. The Site commences the construction of the Death Star while Obi-Wan and Yoda decide to hide the twins in order to protect them. In the end, Leia is adopted by Senator Bail Organa who takes her to Alderaan while Luke is given to Obi-Wan’s stepfamily in Tatooine.
